What Goes Where is a collaborative project in Monterey County to help residents answer the question, “Can I recycle this?”

Monterey Regional Waste Management District (MRWMD) and Salinas Valley Recycles (SVR) formed a coalition with local haulers GreenWaste Recovery, Monterey Disposal, Republic Services, Tri Cities Disposal and Waste Management.

In September 2018, What Goes Where launched with a phone application, website, and educational campaign that promotes responsible materials management. Residents can learn how to reuse and recycle household items through curbside or community drop-off programs in their city.
